Jitters over new Chinese mandarin quota

New quotas for Chinese mandarins to coincide with the end of the three-month negotiating period to 31 January have yet to be announced by Brussels. The delay has worried UK importers who need China to make up shortfalls following the short pack in Spain. Rumours persist that some UK retailers were unable to purchase their requirements in full, hence the concern over amended Chinese terms. "It is certain the new quota arrangements will mean higher costs," said one importer.
