Walkers is the brand that made the most promotional impact in our latest survey of independents. The crisp brand was recalled by 18% of those polled in the week of July 28, thanks mainly to buy-two-get-one-free and buy-three-get-one-free promotions in cash and carries and wholesale outlets. It is also the only non-drink in this week’s chart.

Coca-Cola upped its activity with price cuts, ensuring it took second place in our unprompted promotional recall monitor, with 16% of independents mentioning it. A range of cash and carry promotions helped Lucozade to third place with a 9% recall.

Britvic, Buxton water, Carling Black Label and Fanta all achieved a 3% recall this time. Stella and Cadbury, last month’s top performers, fall out of the chart this month.
