Tesco launches a promotional bonanza for summer Tesco has launched several major promotions stressing seasonality and health. An eight-week summer fruit campaign highlighting raspberries, mangoes, cherries, pineapple, melons, apricots, blackberries, blueberries, papaya and plums will be in 200 stores backed with chalk boards and a tombola to win money-off coupons. Starting on July 6 will be its first English summer veg campaign for parsnips, spinach, sweetheart cabbage, curly kale, runner beans and spring cabbage. Each product will be promoted in sequence for a week, and packs will contain an eight-page recipe booklet/information sheet encased in a food-friendly wrapping. The print run is 320,000. To get the campaign off to a good start, 150,000 Clubcard members will be mailed with a 30p-off coupon. Ruby Salads and New World prepared salads are being promoted with money- off coupons and a booklet featuring Tesco suppliers such as Langmead Farms, as well as identifying the various sweet, mild and strong combinations.
