Sir, In response to your Hot Topic on Nocton super-dairy (The Grocer, 20 November, p3), we welcome the decision by Tesco, Sainsbury's, M&S and Waitrose to reject milk from the proposed Nocton Dairies.

Our Not in my Cuppa team visited the US to study industrial-scale farming. We found enough to warrant a public debate around this watershed moment for our dairy industry.

Morrisons currently undecided whether to sell Nocton milk could be a force for good and divert its CSR responsible sourcing and farm research programme to find a truly sustainable solution that empowers animals, farmers and consumers, rather than the artificial relief offered by intensive dairying.
