Bourbon brand Jack Daniel's has unveiled its first significant NPD in 12 years with the Jack Daniel's & Cola premixer.

The Bacardi Brown-Forman business is cashing in on the off-trade trend for premix canned drinks, which have recorded 35% sales growth to £21m over the last year [Nielsen].

Jack Daniel's & Cola (rsp: £1.99) marks the brand's first NPD since it introduced the premium Jack Daniel's Single Barrel bottles in 1997.

The packaging for the cans will emulate the whiskey brand's flagship Old No 7, in black with touches of red and white.

The company cited research that indicated that more than 40% of Jack Daniel's is drunk with cola.

Meanwhile, Tesco said it would be increasing the number of store listings for BBF's recently launched Southern Comfort Lemonade & Lime premix by 400 as of 1 September.
