Jaffa branded mangoes could soon be appearing on the supermarket shelves.

The Citrus Marketing Board of Israel has announced it will be offering up the rights to the Jaffa brand under license to growers around the world.

And the label will no longer be restricted to just citrus fruit, said Roni Nakar, CMBI’s deputy general manager.

The board will be offering the rights to use the name to fruit growers all around the world, under condition that it does not affect Israeli exports and that the quality remains topnotch.

The announcement follows trials in South Africa and Spain. “The trial in South Africa proved very successful so we decided to extend it to other producing countries like those in South America,” he said.
