jersey puts its stamp on salad tomatoes

Jersey has come up with an exclusive glasshouse salad tomato called Jersey Royale. Selected for flavour rather than yield, the first fruit was picked this week by the Jersey Produce Marketing Association, which has 40 acres under production. No multiple will have exclusivity and Norah Treanor, technical manager, protected crops, expects the fruit to be sold loose and in prepacks through several outlets.
