National account managers now concentrate on one major account and Woodriffe, who joins after Easter will be responsible for Sainsbury's and will tailor collections to fit its specifications, and create exclusive ranges. Woodriffe will also be involved in Western Wines' continued growth in Australia, where it represents wines such as Deakin Estate and Wirra Wirra. Sales director Jeremy Spencer said: "It is not just a question of putting bottles on the shelf. We have to be totally responsible, from the grape to the end customer." Background: Woodriffe started out as a wine buyer for Sainsbury and then Thresher. He joins Western Wines from Southcorp, where he spent the last five years in UK and continental business roles.
