Sainsbury has launched a drinks club that is designed to go head-to-head with Tesco’s wine club.
The Sainsbury club is free to join online, with members receiving a welcome pack, which includes a mini-drinks guide. Customers then receive up to six exclusive mailings a year with tips on matching food and wine, expert advice, money-saving vouchers and exclusive competitions.
The club’s offering is similar to Tesco’s Clubcard World of Wine, launched in 2002 and now with 300,000 members.
An extension, called Tesco World of Wine Direct, was launched earlier this year which has bi-monthly mailouts on offers to identified customers.
