Kerry Foods Direct to Store has taken action to clarify its position over its dealings with Pork Farms, after the two businesses ended their distribution deal last month.

Kerry said it had served notice last year to end the relationship, and was now successfully producing its own pastries under the Wall's brand.

Pork Farms said it would concentrate on direct supply as its wholesale and retail customers wanted to deal directly with brand owners.

The UK savoury pastry market was worth £770m in the 12 months to 25 January, up 4.6% [TNS].
