Strong performances by its ketchup and new product releases have boosted Heinz sales in Europe for the nine months to January 28. Global sales edged up 0.7% to $6.08bn, affected by the dollar/euro exchange rate, while pre-tax profit rose 3.7% to $2.2bn. Sales at Heinz Europe rose 7.6% to $58.3m, helped by double-digit volume growth of Heinz ketchup.
