The new structure for the Sea Fish Industry Authority will be in place in October and a medium-term plan will then be published.

At the heart of change is making greater use of contracted services to deliver projects locally.
Regional partnerships such as Seafish Scotland, Seafish Northern Ireland and Seafish Cornwall will enable local funding to make money go further, said chief executive John Rutherford. "We&'ll be taking our people out to meet fishermen on boats and on the quayside."

Protecting the reputation of fishing and the seafood industry will be a key workstream for the authority.
