Kingsland is repeating a promotion on its Southern Star wine range through Southern Cooperatives which it claims increased its sales by 1,400% in the run up Christmas. Kingsland offered the New World collection at 20% off and sold 1,300 cases during the promotional period, instead of the usual 90. The range was launched last May and has sold an impressive 35,000 cases. Kingsland spokesman Mark Elener said he expected to triple that in the next year. The deal, through the Hampshire-based cooperative group, cut the price of the wines from £4.49 to £3.59. Elener added: "This brought the wines down into the mass market." and people bought into it heavily because the liquid was good value, even at £4.49." The range features two Chilean, two Australian and two South African wines. {{DRINKS }}
