Kingsmill is introducing 100%-recycled packaging to its Little Big Loaf and Crusts Away lines.

Brand owner Allied Bakeries has started producing bags from off-cuts of the plastic used to make packaging for its other loaves. "By developing a way to recycle our packaging off-cuts we will save 1.4 tonnes of CO2 for every tonne of recycled film produced," said category director Guy Shepherd

The company said it was also reducing the footprint of its delivery fleet by introducing teardrop-shaped trucks that are more aerodynamic than conventional vehicles.
