Cadbury Trebor Bassett is capitalising on the trend for sharing and big nights in by only bringing out its latest variant in a large block size.
Dairy Milk Almond & Honey 200g is the twelfth addition to the chocolate bar range and follows in the footsteps of Orange Chips which was launched first in the 200g size last year before coming out in the 49g single bar.
Head of customer relations Mike Tipping said the new product had an indulgent taste
and recorded one of the highest ever scores in consumer tests.
He added that retailers should merchandise the new variant alongside Dairy Milk Turkish and Dairy Milk Caramel in order to emphasise its indulgent credentials. The bar is being launched on September 12 and has an rsp of £1.29.
Cadbury would not say whether the bar would be launched in a 49g format.
In the past 12 months, sales of Dairy Milk’s large block range have benefited from the increasing trend in casual sharing and now represent 47% of the large block market in the grocery sector [MAT week ending August 6, 2005].
