Welsh independent supermarket chain CK’s Supermarket has posted an 85% surge in full-year profits.
Profits soared from £1.2m to £2.2m on sales down 1.7% to £30.2m in the year to 30 April 2013, according to new accounts filed at Companies House.
The increase comes on the back of a 63% hike in 2012 after CK’s closed three stores. It now has 20 stores.
“Work is continuing on the development and modification of existing products and services to meet customer requirements through a continuing programme of R&D to take advantage of new technology as it becomes available,” MD Christopher Kiley wrote in the accounts.
