DCS Europe is set to smash its target of £200m sales by 2015 a year early.
The business, which has seen sales more than than double in the past five years, is on track to top £210m sales in 2014, founder and CEO Denys Shortt told The Grocer.
The company, which is an official distributor for suppliers such as Procter & Gamble and Unilever and manufactures its own range of products under the Enliven banner, claims sales currently stand at £180m - up from £148.4m in the year ending 31 December 2012.
They had been driven by factors including the growth of online and the strong performance of the discount sector, said Shortt, who is now eyeing a sales target of £300m by 2020.
He added that he saw a “massive opportunity” for household brands in foodservice, which it plans to tap into with its recently launched foodservice division, headed by former Henderson Foodservice MD Michael Lorimer.
“Power brands haven’t been stamped into the foodservice market in the same way as they have in retail,” Shortt said. “And that’s a huge opportunity for DCS.”
