Retro sweets, pick ‘n’ mix and strong online growth have boosted sales at Hancocks.

The confectionery wholesaler, which has 20 depots, reported profits up 7% and sales up 5% to £114m for the year ended 31 December 2013.

Online sales had “been huge”, Hancocks said, with 1,000 lines added in the past 12 months.

“As the economy continues to recover, this can only be great news for Hancocks,” said CEO Mark Watson.
