A new online TV hub was launched this week to showcase Scottish food and drink products, producers and events and boost sales of the nation’s products.
The site, scottishfoodanddrink.tv, has been created to support 2014 Food & Drink - a Scottish food and drink industry campaign to increase the sector’s value to £16.5bn by 2017, from £13.1bn [Scottish Enterprise, 2011].
Producers feature on three themed channels: Our Stories, Scotland’s Larder and What’s On.
The industry featured “forward-thinking” producers who combined tradition with innovation to create regionally diverse products with a “truly unique taste and character”, said project manager Fiona Richmond. “Scottishfoodanddrink.tv is a one-of-a-kind diary of food and drink events, producers and products.”
Viewers can see clips from companies including The Highland Chocolatier, haggis producer Macsween of Edinburgh and brewer Tennent Caledonian.
Video content will also give viewers a flavour of the food and drink aspects of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games and the Ryder Cup.
