The rise in losses from retail crime can be attributed to international gangs.

Traditionally, retailers have targeted low-level offenders with CCTV and tagging, but these systems cannot protect against organised groups going after high-value items.

By using information from the police and other stores, retailers can determine which offenders are part of a network. It’s too easy to just carry on targeting opportunistic thefts and low level crime.
