Sir: We were surprised by the claim in The Grocer that the Responsibility Deal evaluation report is “delayed until at least 2016” (‘’Fat Lady singing’ for Responsibility Deal’, 22 November 2014, p6).

The evaluation is working to its agreed three-year timetable, but unlike many such projects, the outputs will be made available as each part of the evaluation is completed.

The findings will therefore be available faster than would normally be the case, and a series of peer-reviewed papers reporting on the findings will appear during 2015, in advance of the final report. There is no delay.
