Joanna Blythman’s attack on Tesco’s convenience stores ignores one simple fact. No one is forced to shop there. The reason consumers choose to buy from the supermarkets’ c-stores is simple. They ARE convenient. They offer consistent quality, competitive prices, wide ranges and long opening hours. They meet the needs of Britain in the 2010s.
Blythman says the recently opened Tesco is “unneeded”. Perhaps she should ask those who shop there whether it is needed, rather than transfer her anti-supermarket prejudices on to others who are happy to shop at Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons
