Green Top Snacks aims to take advantage of the Atkins craze by targeting low-carb seekers with a new pork rind snack.
The company has come up with Low Carb Crunch, which includes an on-pack boast that each 40g bag contains less than 0.1% carbohydrate.
It also claims the 69p snack is ‘ideal for low carbohydrate diets’. Lee Edwards, MD of the Staffordshire-based snack maker, said the company was using a special process to create a lighter pork rind snack.
He added: “Most other snacks are wheat or potato based and are not suitable on the Atkins diet. We created this brand to fill the market gap.”
