Thai and Vietnamese food is taking over from Chinese as the core ethnic choice for consumers in Belgium, according to specialist manufacturers. Belgian company Agniez says its new chicken stir fry with fruit complements its spicier range of dishes, and will be available to retailers and caterers. Md Eric Niessen said consumers were seeking more adventurous tastes than traditional Chinese recipes such as sweet and sour, and is looking for UK distribution. "The lighter sauces of Vietnamese food and fiery flavours of Thai cuisine are appealing to consumers," he said. Batches are cooked in 5kg woks by a team of chefs specialising in oriental cuisine. {{NEWS }}
