First estimates of total European Union milk deliveries for the year 2000 show a drop of 0.8% on the previous year. This is despite a late boost of 0.6% in December. The decline was entirely the result of low milk deliveries in the United Kingdom. In this country an almost unprecedented decline of 3.9% was recorded. Excluding UK data, the position across the rest of the EU was almost exactly unchanged. {{PROVISIONS }}
