Languedoc producer Domaines Auriol is eyeing the UK market for the launch of a range of reduced-alcohol and lower-calorie wines.

The So'Light brand, launched in France earlier this year, includes red, white and rosé wines.

"We aim to nurture new wine drinkers while offering more experienced consumers a product that meets their requirements in diet and health choices," said managing director Claude Vialade.

The wines have an abv of 9% and contain 60 to 63 calories in a 12.5cl glass compared with about 80 in fuller-strength wines.
