City slickers will be able to spend a lunchtime wandering through a vineyard this summer as Australian producer McGuigan Simeon brings the first urban vineyard to London.
Rows of vines, winemakers and sampling will feature at the three-day event this July near Liverpool Street station, in the heart of the financial district.
"The McGuigan City Vineyard will provide a fantastic experience for UK consumers by bringing a piece of Australia to one of the most populated and urban areas of the city," said European regional director Paul Schaafsma. "In addition to enhancing the landscape of London, the vineyard will enable us to increase the profile of the McGuigan brand."
The event has been timed to coincide with the launch of new wines and the relaunch of one of the company's existing brands, details of which are being kept under wraps.
This is the second time the wine producer has built an urban vineyard - the first was in Sydney last November.
