Cottage cheese and butter are set to join the Loseley chilled products portfolio.

Cottage cheese will be rolled out in late summer and butter in the autumn, complementing the existing yoghurts range.

The plans form part of a wave of NPD activity from Dale Farm GB, the processing arm of United Dairy Farmers, which acquired the Loseley business from Parmalat two years ago. The company is investing £2.5m in its Kendal plant to boost productivity and install the facilities for the new offerings.

It is also planning to more than double its marketing spend behind the whole Loseley brand to between £4m and £5m.
