Mince pies with Courvoisier, cream with Jim Beam and cake with Grand Marnier are just some of the tipsier foods that will grace supermarket shelves this Christmas.

Supplier Thomas Lowndes, which specialises in foods containing alcohol, has unveiled a number of seasonal products for brands and retailers.

Cognac brand Courvoisier makes its debut in Tesco Finest mince pies, The Co-operative Group's brandy sauce and Asda's Christmas cake. The tipple will also appear in new party puddings from M&S and in an innovative 'melt in the middle' Christmas pudding from Noble Foods, which has a liquid centre of creamy Courvoisier sauce.

Meanwhile, Grand Marnier will for the first time be used in McVitie's Christmas cranberry & orange cake and will also form part of a frozen chocolate dessert from M&S and a Waitrose sponge pudding.
