Haggis specialist Macsween of Edinburgh has been awarded £400,000 of funding towards a new packaging facility.

The grant from the Scottish government would go towards meeting increased demand for haggis, said MD James Macsween. The grant, worth 30% of project costs, would allow Macsween to take on more business from existing and new customers.

Macsween claims the expansion will result in the creation of 12 new jobs this year. The grant was part of the Scottish Government's Food Processing and Co-operation scheme.
