Wine warehouse chain Majestic Wine has reported an 18% increase in half-year pre-tax profits to £5.9m.
In half-year results for the 26 weeks to end September 26, the group revealed that total sales had increased from £74.6m last year to £80.8m. Like-for-like UK sales were up 5.5%.
Tim How, chief executive of Majestic Wine, said: “Sales growth has continued to be robust in a challenging retail market. Like-for-like UK sales for the six weeks from September 27 to November 7, 2005 were up 5.0%.
