Heinz, Unilever and Northern Foods have signed a commitment to reduce packaging waste.

The manufacturers join 13 retailers including Tesco, Sainsbury's and Asda, who signed up to WRAP's (the Waste & Resources Action Programme) Courtauld Commitment last year.

“By working together in the spirit of partnership we can make a real difference to the overall sustainability performance of our industry,” said Gavin Neath, senior vice president of corporate responsibility at Unilever.
