The New Covent Garden Market Authority, the public corporation that oversees the running of the market, has reported a £1.4m pre-tax surplus for the year to March 31, 2005.
Overall turnover was up 4.4% to £497m, with fruit and vegetable turnover rising 14% to £153m.
The business of the flower market rose 5% to £64m, while the catering distribution sector grew 1.6% to £125m.
