Market: Cheese falls back by 9%

The UK cheese market is nearly 9% down year on year for the first five months of this year, according to Ministry of Agriculture figures. The period covers some peak production months, so buyers can expect the shortfall to be spread across the back end of the year, if they have not already seen the beginnings of it. UK butter output has dropped 6.6%, against an EU average drop of 1.8%, but whole milk powder has surged by 8.8%. {{PROVISIONS }}
