Harry Potter could appear on cans of Coke following Coca-Cola's signing of a multi-million pound deal to become the "sole global marketing partner" for the upcoming film. Coca-Cola plans a series of promotional initiatives timed around the release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in November. Hand in hand with this, it is planning a fresh approach to marketing in a bid to shore up its relationship with its core youth audience. Tom Long, Coca-Cola division president for Great Britain and Ireland, said: "We are looking at the things we traditionally do in a whole new way. "The key to our plan will be about relationships, local communities, and connecting with people one-to-one." It is understood the company will steer clear of gimmicky giveaways in favour of more cause-related activities based around literacy. And Coca-Cola is hoping that a little bit of Harry Potter magic will rub off on Coke's image. Full details of Coke's Harry Potter plans will be revealed in the spring. The film is due to be released on November 16. {{NEWS }}
