Some Yorkshire things are brilliant (Wensleydale cheese and the castles) while others are unspeakably awful (mainly Geoff Boycott). The first-ever TV ad from Harrogate’s Bettys, The Enchanted Forest, is… okay.

There’s a Snowman-esque charm to the festive animation’s set-up, all gently falling snow and twinkling lights. A boy and girl giddily buy animal-shaped chocolates from Bettys and head home via the titular woodland.

But the story takes a wicked turn. The hedgehog, fox and squirrel go missing and come to life.

So magical St Nick swoops in, returning the beasts to their choccie state and dooming them to being eaten by the two hyperactive brats. Dark.
