McCain Foods is the latest food brand to cash in on the World Cup, launching McCain Footballs.

The frozen mashed potato balls (rsp: £1.69), which score three green traffic lights on FSA labels, target older children and roll out next month.

Head of customer marketing Alan Castle said the NPD would bridge the gap between the existing McCain Smiles and more adult-orientated McCain products such as Wedges. "Our research tells us that as children get older they are looking for more grown-up food," he said.
