Lapsed vegetarians could be tempted by a new range of chicken-style meals from the Linda McCartney range.
The frozen recipes use a new meat-free ingredient in three varieties: vegetable balti with
naan bread, pasta primavera and pasta with a sundried tomato sauce.
“We are launching the range to extend the brand’s dynamism and modernity,” said brand manager Pavan Chandra.
“It is one of a series of steps to continue meeting consumer needs and add value to the meat-free category.”
She added that the products had good consumer appeal. “They satisfy consumers’ demand for convenient products that offer great taste and fit in with a modern, healthy lifestyle.”
The recipes come in new packaging for the brand, which was launched last October and features the Linda McCartney signature more prominently. The Vegetarian Society logo has been moved to the pack front.
The new products have an rsp of £1.99 for a 340g pack and are available in Sainsbury, Somerfield, Iceland and Asda.
