Australian wine producer McGuigan Simeon is to launch a brand aimed at UK independents.

The new five-strong McGuigan Collection will be released this April, through WaverleyTBS, and will also be available in the on-trade. Rsp is £7.99 a bottle.

"The range has been sourced from Australia and includes a Pinot Grigio, a Chardonnay and a Shiraz. There's also a sparkling rosé and a Shiraz Viognier, which were requested by customers," said managing director Brian McGuigan.

The company is also launching a limited edition 2005 Langhorne Creek Shiraz, which will only be available to specialist independent retailers and top-end restaurants.

"Langhorne Creek is one of Australia's oldest regions and we're making just 500 cases of this wine," said McGuigan.

McGuigan Simeon split with its UK distributor Vinoceros after 14 years to sign an exclusive deal with WaverleyTBS.
