Contemporary chip and potato products will be high on autumn and winter menus according to McCain. The frozen potato speciality producer is rolling out Chunky Wedges ­ a plainer version of Savoury Wedges ­ from next week and it is backing both variants with a six-week heavyweight TV campaign. Two ads, called Sofa and Stairs, break on November 5. Other activity has included rebranding Stringfellows as Crispy French Fries ­ to communicate the product characteristics more clearly ­ and offering 750g packs across the McCain range at a special promotional price of 99p.
