Waitrose has recalled four batches of own-label cooked meat after low levels of listeria were detected during routine testing.

The recall affected 180g packs of Cooks Ingredients Pulled Ham Hock with display until/use by dates of 27 August, 29 August and 31 August, and 140g Essential Waitrose Corned Beef packs with a date of 2 September.

A Waitrose spokeswoman said the chain had not received any reports of consumers falling ill as a result of the contamination, claiming the recall was "entirely precautionary".
