Bacon Connoisseurs Week will sport a patriotic new theme this year - “Red, White & Bacon”.

The week, which will run from 19 March, marks the culmination of Bpex’s annual search for Britain’s best traditional and innovative bacon cures.

Entries are open across classic dry cure, traditional wet cure and smoked cure, as well as for the Rasher-nal Treasure Award, which recognises bacon that best represents British heritage. Closing date for entries is 23 January.

A celebrity figurehead will be announced shortly.
