UK beef exports are predicted to fall 13% to 152,000 tonnes this year, according to Eblex’s latest Beef Briefing, released this week.

The English beef and lamb sector body blamed the slump on lower UK production and forecast that exports would bounce back in 2013, to 167,000 tonnes, contingent on favourable economic conditions in Europe at the time. “Ongoing demand for cow beef is likely to prevail,” the report added.
