British goose producers have teamed up with City College Norwich to develop new recipes to boost goose consumption in the autumn.

The partnership between the British Goose Producers association and the college’s hotel school will see BGP chairman Eddie Hegarty visit the college next month to talk to students and raise awareness of goose as a menu item. They, in turn, will visit producer Norfolk Geese to learn more about the birds and will develop goose menus as part of their syllabus.

Students will also work with a local chef to develop recipes for a goose-themed dinner to celebrate Michaelmas, at which goose is traditionally eaten.
