A new own label coffee giant has been created in the UK with a merger of a Spanish producer and a Brazilian manufacturer.

Alliance Coffee Company, which will be based in the UK, is a merger between Seda Solubles, Spain and Cia Iguacu, Brazil.

A spokesman for the new company said both partners already have experience of supplying the British private label market either directly or by supplying private label packers.

The company planned to gain market share in the private label market in Britain through the direct supply of innovative and flexible finished coffee products, he said. The joint venture will have 30,000 tonnes annual capacity, packaging instant coffee.

The spokesman said: “Our global knowledge and capacity combined with local UK understanding and presence means we can offer the British retail market a unique product - positioning us ahead of the majority of our competitors.”

ACC will supply a full range of instant coffee products - freeze-dried, granulated, spray-dried, decaffeinated coffees - and coffee based products.
