Today’s member and confectionery specialist Hancocks has snapped up e-commerce wholesaler UK Sweets for an undisclosed sum.
The £3m-turnover UK Sweets stocks a wide range of confectionery for the British market.
The deal is set to double Hancocks’ online sales. UK Sweets will continue to trade under its current domain name but with the increased buying power and an expanded product range.
“Our e-commerce venture has seen remarkable growth across both 2014 and 2015 with sales up more than 60% on previous years,” said Hancocks chief executive Mark Watson.
“With the acquisition of UK Sweets we can take our e-commerce business to the next level.”
