JJ Food Service has teamed up with a seafood supplier to bolster its fish and chip shop offering.
The wholesaler will merge the London and South West depots of Unique Seafood into its distribution network.
Effective immediately, the supply chain tie-up will give JJ’s customers better availability in the fish and seafood category.
JJ Food Service launched its first range of products for the fish and chip market last year and joined the National Federation of Fish Friers as an associate member in December.
“This latest investment further demonstrates our intention to become a major player in the fish and chip market,” said JJ Food Service MD Mustafa Kiamil.
“Working with Unique Seafood will enable us to secure a consistent, reliable supply of high-quality, competitively-priced fish for our customers.”
Unique Seafood is a supplier to more than 2,500 fish and chip shop customers in the UK.
“With eight UK branches and three more scheduled to open in 2016, JJ’s national coverage continues to grow,” said Unique Seafood CEO Harald Nissen.
“Combining their expertise in distribution with our knowledge of the fish market will benefit everyone involved.”
