Milk Link is to invest £350,000 in improving its butter processing capability at Lockerbie Creamery.

An additional bulk production line handling a range of sweet cream, blended and spreadable butter will increase production capacity from 8,000 to 10,000 tonnes.

"This investment will help develop our butter-making capabilities both in terms of the range and quality," said operations director Mark Robertson.

The creamery supplies branded Lockerbie butter to retailers and general lines to foodservice.
