Dairy processors have agreed to stump up £4.5m to help fund a major marketing campaign aimed at enhancing the image of milk among UK consumers and boosting sales of liquid milk. Jim Begg, director-general of the Dairy Industry Federation, said: "This decision will provide a welcome boost to the dairy industry, which is currently operating in difficult market conditions." The 18-month campaign will be funded equally by processors and dairy farmers. The National Dairy Council is in the process of appointing an advertising agency and TV commercials should air by late spring. {{P&P }}
