Monkhill Confectionery is relaunching its jars and weighouts range and adding six new lines following research with independent retailers.
After the Cadbury Trebor Bassett division polled 900 independent retailers it found that 52% sold confectionery in jars or weighouts, with the majority (74%) preferring the jar display to the weighout format. The poll also showed the average independent stocks 42 jar/weighout varieties.
Monkhill, which produces nearly 40 jars and weighout lines under the Cadbury, Sharps of York, Pascall, Maynards, Trebor and Bassett’s brands, refreshed its packaging and added Pascall Rhubarb & Custard, Bassett’s Mint Creams and Cadbury Roses to the jar range and bolstered its weighout portfolio with Maynards Sours, Maynards Wine Pastilles and Bassett’s Fruit Allsorts.
Monkhill’s senior brand manager, Jo Munns, said “This research has been invaluable.”
